History and Background of Delta Force |
The legendary Special Forces commando Col. Charles Beckwith formed Delta Force in 1977. The development of Delta was due to the plague of terrorist incidents in the early to mid seventies. The US Army began putting together an elite unit to combat terrorism.
This elite unit was small and highly specialized and came to be known as the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta or as Delta Forces. The volunteers for this unit underwent an extremely strenuous selection process with very high attrition rates to earn their place in the regiment. Only the most qualified and highly motivated men made it to the unit.
Special Operations units, or SpecOps units, are units that have been tasked with special missions that are out of the scope of regular military units. These missions require special tactics, skills and people that are not found in the regular military. Examples of these missions are counter terrorism, direct action (assaults and raids), special reconnaissance, search and rescue, training foreign fighters, and various other operations behind enemy lines. SpecOps units are also much smaller in size and operate in smaller groups (usually 4 to 12) than conventional units. Special Operations require special weapons and field craft. The most important part of a SpecOps however, is the individual- the Specwarrior.
Spec Warriors, also called commandos, special operators or troopers, have been misunderstood and misused since the first modern SpecOps units were created during WW2. These units typically require a particular type of personality that may offend the more conventional, live-by-the-book, and military types. Spec Warriors possess a certain confidence in their capabilities and independence of character.
They are also much more intelligent. Unlike regular military personnel, they have the ability to analyze a situation and do what it takes to resolve it. They believe in “speeded of action” and “violence of aggression”. This contrasts with a regular soldier who waits to receive his orders from a mile long chain of command and flounders if none are received. Spec Warriors will break the rules, if it helps to achieve their goal. The popular motto “ Never Fight Fair!” illustrates this fundamental Spec War principle.
Spec Warriors also differ from their counterparts in their motivation and training. They are typically volunteers, and undergo strenuous physical and mental tests to get selected.
This combination leaves no doubt as to the motivation of the individual. It also ensures the individual possesses extraordinary physical and mental stamina.
The training of Spec Warriors is also much more intense, extreme and complete than that of regular soldiers. Spec Warriors are expected to be masters of their trade. Indeed, to be the best is also an underlying principle of Spec Warfare. Spec Warriors will train harder, longer and much more realistically than regular solders. While the training of regular solders emphasizes learning the basic and safety of the individual, Spec operators train with only one goal- to master that craft. They often use live ammo, and their training is often as dangerous as actual operations. Deaths during training are not uncommon.
Spec Warriors are not immune to fear, pain and confusion in battle. What separates Spec Warriors from the regulars is there ability to tune out pain, fear and fatigue and focus on their mission. While the ‘fog of war’ reduces a regular soldier to panic, a Spec Warriors calmly and professionally completes his mission. This ability, in essence, is what a Spec Warrior is all about. -top-

| Who Is Team Delta 1? |
Team Delta 1 was formed in August of 2006. The main purpose of forming Team Delta 1 is to have a tight nit group to train with and attend events with, that will have the training and tactical advantage of working close together. This will in turn give us as a team the tactical advantage on the battlefield, when the shit hits the fan. We are highly skilled and very proficient in several special tactics. Examples of some of Team Delta 1 special skills are direct action (assaults and raids) pealing, leapfrog, fire team tactics, movement techniques, squad attack, sniper and counter sniper tactics and other various tactical SF Operations. The teamwork and the tactics we bring to the field are violent and aggressive in nature; this is what makes us elite on the field of battle. Some of Team Delta 1 operators have military or law enforcement backgrounds, but this information is classified to the airsoft community, for the tactical advantage. Only Team Delta 1 operators have access to this information. All Delta 1 operators go thru intensive tryout and training to become an official Team Delta 1 operator. Every thing from the ranking system, tactics, weapons and equipment used is the soul bases of the team to replicate a Delta Force Unit. -top-
